“India's data center ecosystem is entering a critical phase as AI, cloud and hyperscale computing drive unprecedented demand, constrained by power, cost, cooling and supply. The answer is not simply building more capacity, but getting more useful work from every watt, rack and square foot we already have. Much of the waste is architectural: siloed systems, redundant copies and stranded capacity consume power and floor space without creating proportional value. An Enterprise Data Cloud addresses this by letting organisations manage data as a unified, virtualised cloud across environments with consistent governance.
The underlying storage technology matters too. Storage represents around 20% to 25% of the energy consumed inside a data center, yet an estimated 80% of the world's data still sits on hard disk drives, a mechanical technology some 70 years old. Consolidating onto all-flash reduces floor space and power draw, cutting energy use and carbon emissions by up to 85% compared with competing platforms. Systems designed for modular, non-disruptive upgrades generate at least three times less e-waste. Terabytes per watt should sit alongside performance and cost as key metrics.
Duplication is also a governance problem. Through data primacy and Everpure Data Intelligence, organisations can discover, classify and contextualise data across environments without wholesale migration, reducing redundant data while supporting DPDP Act compliance and sovereign AI strategies. India's opportunity is to use capacity more productively—getting more value from every watt.”
