The GovTech company will design and implement a secure electronic auctioning platform under Malawi's Digital Malawi Acceleration Project, reinforcing India's growing role in delivering Digital Public Infrastructure solutions and transparent governance across emerging economies.
CSM Technologies Limited has secured an international contract from the Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) of Malawi through its wholly owned Kenyan subsidiary, CSM Tech Limited, to develop an Electronic Auctioning Platform (EAP) under the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project (DMAP).
Funded by the World Bank through the International Development Association (IDA), the project is valued at ₹32.08 million and marks another milestone in the company's global expansion while strengthening India's position as a provider of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions for developing nations.
Digital platform to enhance transparency in procurement
The Electronic Auctioning Platform is designed to modernise Malawi's public procurement process by replacing manual, paper-based auctions with a secure and fully digital system. The platform will support online bid submissions, real-time bid evaluation, bidder anonymity, automated ranking and electronic publication of results, helping improve transparency, efficiency and accountability in government procurement.
The assignment will be executed over 12 months as part of the six-year Digital Malawi Acceleration Project, a key initiative under the World Bank-backed Inclusive Digitalization in Eastern and Southern Africa (IDEA) programme.
The broader programme aims to expand broadband connectivity across Malawi, benefiting more than 7.5 million users, while connecting 2,500 public institutions, including 2,000 schools and 500 government offices. It also seeks to accelerate digital service delivery through millions of digital authentications and improve affordable internet access across the country.
Comprehensive project execution
As part of the engagement, CSM Tech Limited will manage the entire project lifecycle, including business requirements assessment, platform design and development, system integration, cybersecurity hardening, penetration testing, pilot deployment, production rollout, user training, knowledge transfer and post-deployment warranty support.
