Sony has unveiled its first dual USB bus powered slim portable Blu-ray Disc rewritable drive to complement notebooks, netbooks or desktop PCs.
This sleek and lightweight BDX-S600U drive comes with dual USB bus power, built-in dual USB cables and integrated cable duct. Each USB cables draw max 500mA current from USB ports according to the manner of USB Specification and this will avoid troubles on USB bus power. The drive writes single BD-R and dual layer BD-R media at up to 6x speeds, using 6x compatible BD-R media, and can record up to 100GB of HD video or data on a BD-R XL100GB disc and are compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP.

The drive also records standard 4.7GB DVD±R discs at up to 8X speeds, 8.5 GB DVD±R Double/Dual layer at up to 6X, DVD+RW at up to 8X, DVD-RW at up to 6X, CD-R at up to 24X, CD-RW at up to 16X, and supports DVD-RAM recording at up to 5X speeds.
Sony BDXL DVD writer is available in India at Rs,18,500/- (MRP) with one-year warranty.
