The Japanese consumer electronics brand's new line-up spans 7 kg to 14 kg with five pulsator technologies, a five-year motor warranty and 5-star energy ratings, positioning durability and low running costs for Indian households.
Japanese consumer electronics brand AKAI India has rolled out a new range of semi-automatic washing machines under the theme "The Spa for Your Clothes." The company said the line-up is built to bridge the gap between heavy-duty endurance and premium fabric care, drawing on its cultural roots to address common concerns among Indian households.
The new range spans capacities from 7 kg to 14 kg, built around added pulsator technologies. According to the company, the guiding idea behind the range is that a wash cycle should not waste water, electricity, or wear down the machine itself. The line-up is aimed at a wide set of buyers, from young couples purchasing their first washing machine to larger joint families needing higher capacity. Rather than compete on features consumers rarely use, AKAI said it is focusing on low running costs and machines built to last.
Five pulsator technologies define the range
The most significant change in the new line-up sits at the drum level, where AKAI has spread five distinct pulsator technologies across its semi-automatic models. The entry-level x5 Wing Pulsator spans the full 7 kg to 14 kg range, offering Normal and Gentle cycles, with a Strong mode added on higher-capacity models. The Dual Force Pulsator, fitted on select models, is built for households handling heavier daily loads. The Active Flow 360° powers AKAI's "Magic Wash," a 35-minute cycle with a built-in soak function, available on select models. The Jumbo Pulsator offers a three-program wash (Normal, Gentle, Strong) on the 8.5 kg glass-lid range, with an electronic timer running up to 40 minutes. Rounding out the range, the Spiral Pulsator and Roller Pulsator feature on the 8.5 kg and 10.5 kg tiers respectively, each with a water selector and multiple wash programs.
At the top end, the 11 kg model introduces a stainless-steel wash-and-spin tub, which the company says is a first for AKAI's semi-automatic line.
Built for durability, backed by warranty
Every model in the range shares a common protective build, including an anti-rat mesh guarding the wiring, a rust-proof body, and thermal protection for the wash motor. AKAI is backing this with a five-year warranty on the wash motor and a 5-star energy rating across the range, positioning longevity rather than replacement as the central pitch.
Most capacities also include soft-closing lids on 7.5 kg glass-lid models and above, castor wheels for easier movement, a collar scrubber and magic filter for lint and dirt, and either single or dual water inlets depending on the model.

AKAI said it backs the range with a nationwide network of over 1,200 service centres spread across 28 states, aimed at keeping support accessible after purchase.
The Semi-Automatic Washing Machines are available across India starting at ₹12,590 onwards, through AKAI India's official website, select third-party online stores, and offline via AKAI India's authorised retailers.
