ANADIGICS has announced that the Company's AWL9281 front-end integrated circuit (FEIC) is enabling WiFi connectivity in the new Ascend P7 by Huawei. This ultra-slim, feature-rich smartphone measures only 6.5 mm in depth while offering a 5.0-inch display, 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera, and Android (R) 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. This level of performance and design enables Huawei to deliver a flagship smartphone with an exceptional user experience.
"We are proud to support Huawei through each successive generation of flagship mobile devices, including the new, exciting Ascend P7. Our WiFi solutions have set the standard in FEIC form, fit and function by delivering industry-leading efficiency, world-class linearity and space-saving integration. These advantages translate to real-world benefits by enabling longer battery-life, greater throughput at extended range and slim form factors," said Jonathan Griffith, Vice President of WiFi Products at ANADIGICS.
ANADIGICS' family of WiFi FEICs leverages the Company's patented InGaP-Plus(TM) technology and uniquely designed architectures to combine a high performance power amplifier (PA), low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass option and RF switch on a single die. This level ofintegration greatly improves manufacturability and reliability, while reducing PCB space requirements. The AWL9281 FEIC provides outstanding error vector magnitude (EVM) and noise figure performance, enabling ultra-high data throughput. ANADIGICS' AWL9281 also delivers exceptionally low current consumption, significantly extending battery-life in mobile applications.
