ManageEngine rolls out Wi-Fi Monitor Plus

 ManageEngine has launched Wi-Fi Monitor Plus. Available immediately, the free diagnostic app lets IT admins in SMBs and large enterprises monitor, analyze and survey Wi-Fi signals in any area, directly from their Android mobile devices.

Wi-Fi Monitor Plus offers both Analyzer and Surveyor modes, making it the first Wi-Fi monitor to offer both modes in one app.

Analyzer mode lets users view available networks, graphs of the scanned networks’ signal strength, and channels with interference. The information helps users take appropriate actions to optimize Wi-Fi connectivity.

The surveyor mode allows users to survey a site for the best signal strength. The heat map feature indicates the strength of the scanned Wi-Fi networks. Users can upload their floor plans and survey different locations on the site for signal strength.

“IT admins responsible for ensuring good network connectivity will immensely benefit from this app. The channel interference graph that shows both co-channel and inter-channel interference is a unique functionality that adds value by equipping the IT admins with actionable information. They can quickly decide on a course of action such as turning off a channel to increase the Wi-Fi signal strength,” said Vidya Vasu, Head of the ManageEngine Community and Free Tools.

Wi-Fi Monitor Plus has smart filters to show signals with the best strength by default and also by frequency. It intelligently filters out the weak signals, making the interface clutter free. Users, however, have the option to view all the signals on a single graph.
