The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has signed an MoU with the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF), an IIT Kanpur-incubated non-profit specializing in cybercrime research and policy.
The collaboration, formalized in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, aims to strengthen India’s cybersecurity talent ecosystem.
Together, NIELIT and FCRF will co-develop advanced skilling and certification programs focused on AI-generated fraud, digital forensics, and cyber law. The partnership also includes national hackathons, awareness campaigns, and law enforcement training on cyber incident response and forensic investigations.
Prof. Triveni Singh, Chief Mentor of FCRF, said, “This MoU marks a major step in applied cybersecurity education. We aim to build rigorous, hands-on learning in AI-driven fraud detection and digital forensics.”
The collaboration emphasizes research into AI and ML-based tools for threat detection, ransomware analysis, and cybercrime pattern recognition. It will also deliver policy insights to support India’s cyber governance framework.
At the same event, NIELIT launched its Digital University Platform and announced five new centers across India, advancing the Digital India mission for accessible, future-ready tech education.
