Unveiled at Global Fintech Fest 2026, the conversational assistant offers round-the-clock help in five languages for transaction queries, mandate management, complaint tracking and fraud safety, aiming to strengthen trust in everyday digital payments.
NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has rolled out MyUPI, an AI-driven conversational assistant built into the BHIM Payments App. The tool is designed to streamline UPI-related support, mandate handling and safety features for users.
Unveiled at the Global Fintech Fest 2026, MyUPI offers round-the-clock assistance in plain, conversational language and is currently available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali, with additional regional languages set to be added over time.
NPCI said the assistant consolidates several functions into one interface—letting users get help with transactions, file and monitor complaints, manage UPI Autopay mandates, unlink their UPI number, and access guidance on avoiding payment fraud.
Lalitha Nataraj, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI BHIM Services Limited, said trust needs to anchor every interaction as digital payments become more woven into daily routines. She described MyUPI as adding a proactive layer of trust to the BHIM app, helping users get information, sort out concerns and act quickly with more clarity.
What MyUPI offers: Key functions explained
The assistant bundles together eight core capabilities. It lets users review UPI transactions across all linked bank accounts and apps from a single screen, and seek help on specific payments.
For grievances, MyUPI allows users to file eligible payment complaints and track their status with a reference number directly inside the app. A "Pay Safe" feature lets users verify a payee's identity—via UPI ID or QR code—before completing a transaction.
On the mandate front, the assistant gives a unified view of recurring payments across accounts, letting users pause, resume or cancel Autopay mandates. A "Transaction Replay" option allows users to redo earlier eligible UPI payments, including those originally made on other apps, subject to fresh UPI PIN authentication.
Users who prefer not to receive payments via their mobile-linked UPI Number can de-link it while still transacting through their UPI ID. A "Safety Switch" feature offers a quick way to block a linked bank account in situations like a lost phone, suspected fraud, an unexpected debit or a suspicious message.
Rounding out the offering, MyUPI provides conversational guidance on identifying scam messages and common UPI fraud tactics, aiming to build user awareness alongside transactional support.
